Tops for tacos?

It appears Colorado is one of the top states for the best tacos — and Commerce City is No. 1 of towns in the state for them. So says Out There Colorado, citing

I can hear Texans and New Mexicans crying foul here, but to me, just about any taco is going to be a good taco.

What do you think? Is our state tops for tacos? What are your favorite local/area taco stops?

“Dinner on Main Street” celebrates Sharing Ministries 25th year of service and Habitat for Humanity's 30th year of service. Will you be attending?

Dinner on Main Street is another upcoming event this Saturday Sept. 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The general admission is $20 (which includes food of course), and children under 5 get in free. As for the location -- you guessed it, it’s on Main Street. Unfortunately, ticket sales did stop a week ago, so unless someone you know has an extra ticket, you might have to wait until next year.

It’s the first dinner of its kind that the nonprofits are hosting. What do you think of the idea? Will you be heading there this Saturday?

List of local food resources in Montrose. Do you have any to add?

Tri-County Health Network care coordinator manager Amy Rowan wrote an article Saturday listing as many local food resources in Montrose as she could. This type of service-oriented information fits right in with NABUR's mission, so I figured I'd share here too. The list includes everything from school lunch programs, to food banks, to farmers' market programs and gardening start-up assistance.

If you have any food resources that are not listed to add, throw them in the comments below. Also, let me know if you're interested in more resource information like this going forward. I've compiled a group with some volunteer opportunities already, but I'd love to know if there are other informational gaps that I could help with.

Where the largest diversity of mushrooms are sold locally?

I am attending the Telluride Mushroom Festival (virtually) this week. Since I have just recently moved to Montrose ( mid-June) I was interested in finding out where the largest diversity of mushrooms is available in local markets. Anyone?
