We had a great discussion about the congressional redistricting proposal over the past couple weeks on NABUR. Late last week, the redistricting commission released their second map with some big changes. The 3rd district would now be in a large L shape covering Moffat, Rio Blanco and Garfield counties. Eagle county would no longer be in the 3rd district either, as the last map had included. Custer county would also no longer be in the 3rd district.

The commission may release a third map in the coming days if they don't agree on this one. Time is ticking though. The commission needs to adopt a map by Sept. 28 to submit by Oct. 1.

What do you think of the second proposal? What changes would you make?

The next commission meeting for the congressional map will actually happen in just a few hours, at 2 p.m. Sept. 20.
